I witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that capital can have on the world. While I grew up in one of the most affluent suburbs of Los Angeles, I relocated to one of the poorest towns of the Philippines to study at a college founded by my father. He wanted to provide free college education to the students from his home province who otherwise would have no means to afford one. The school was completely funded by my parents. When they suffered through their own period of financial hardship, I sacrificed my college education at the NYU undergraduate business school and attended my family’s college in order to contribute to my parents’ vision. Despite my family’s financial hardships, we continued to support the school and funded the education of thousands of students which enabled an incredible transformation in their lives. Because of my family’s sponsorship, bamboo huts morphed into concrete bungalows, and parents of former students bought farms and started their own businesses. The school also generated new jobs and business opportunities, creating the multiplier effect on the town’s economy that my father envisioned. I wish he had a financial planning firm like Quantum looking out for his own personal financial situation. I see my role at Quantum as the investment steward that my father never had, and I care for our clients’ portfolios so that they can create whatever impact they desire for their family and for the world.

Experience & Qualifications

Before Quantum, I worked for five years at Abacus Wealth Partners as a trader, managing the bulk of all client portfolios as the company nearly tripled in size during my tenure. With that work experience, I earned my Chartered Financial Analyst designation after completing all three levels of the rigorous program in consecutive years. I’ve also worked as an educator in the US and in the Philippines which has given me the patience and experience necessary to teach complex financial topics to others.

Outside of work

Golf. Way too much golf. I also enjoy reading books, especially nerdy ones about math and physics. A book about the math and physics of golf? Yes, please!
