Tracy Shemano, MBA, FPQP™

Client Experience Director

When I was a child, my parents controlled our family’s financial well-being while providing all things we needed, most things we wanted, and many things that made us smile. My parents’ planning gave me comfort, but it also led to my concern that I might not have similar success managing my future family’s finances. At a very young age I decided to begin working part time jobs and to deposit my income into my treasured savings account. Rather than purchasing a car with the high school graduation gift from my grandfather, I invested in a mutual fund, added cash from my savings account, and joyfully watched the balance grow. I very proudly contributed my mutual fund to our down-payment when my husband and I purchased our first home.

Having retained my thrifty childhood mindset I find myself in a position of financial stability. Despite this stability, I will never abandon my desire to evaluate, discuss, and plan in the same manner as my parents in order to make wise financial decisions for my family and for those around me.

Experience & Qualifications

After a post-undergrad career in finance, followed by a number of years as a stay-at-home mom, I felt well prepared to begin a new career in financial planning when my youngest child graduated high school and left home to attend college. At Quantum, and at Abacus Wealth Partners prior to Quantum, I draw from my arsenal of financial knowledge, wisdom, and experiences to help clients achieve their financial goals. Prior to my “sabbatical,” my financial career included positions at Merrill Lynch and Citi in a credit and investment capacity. I undertook these positions after completing my MBA at NYU’s Stern School of Business which I pursued while working at a commercial bank in a credit capacity and as a middle market lender. Previously, I completed the commercial bank’s credit training program and its investments training program. At Brown University I spent my undergraduate years earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics.

Outside of Work

My passions include my husband, my three children, and my extended family. I love spending time outdoors. An avid jogger, I ran three marathons (New York City and Los Angeles old course and new course). The majority of people on the Westside of Los Angeles have seen me jogging or riding my bicycle, an activity I increased during the pandemic when the Los Angeles traffic became non-existent. My family and I love to travel, and we accomplish a great deal of sightseeing while jogging and biking. My life mantra is, “No regrets!”
