The reason I got into this profession

Growing up, my future was clouded with uncertainty. My family and I originally journeyed to the US from a small town in the Philippines where we had very little in the way of money or opportunities. We shared a small drafty house with my aunts, uncles and grandparents. My parents sold fish in the streets just to make ends meet. They worried that I, too, would share the fate of the little girl who sold plastic bags next to my parents’ fish cart. Despite our circumstances, my father was determined to provide a better future for his children and set upon the long and difficult journey that would eventually bring his family to the US. I was eight years old when we were finally able to leave our small home, and I reluctantly said goodbye to the rest of my family to leave for our first Naval tour in Japan. On that day, I learned not only of the importance of family but also of the cost of a brighter future. It still took my father many years, several duty stations, and a lot of time away from our family before his Naval career eventually brought us to the mainland US when I was seventeen.

I am grateful for all of my parents’ hard work and the life lessons they taught us along the way. If there’s one thing I learned from all of my parents' struggles, it’s that life is difficult, and time is valuable. One of my goals at Quantum is to lessen our clients’ burden by minimizing the time they spend dealing with the logistical minutiae that often comes with financial transitions. I strive to make the complicated back office requirements as simple and seamless as possible.

Quantum Advantage

I use the eight years of learning, and adding to, TD Ameritrade’s back office procedures to minimize the back and forth of paperwork requirements for our clients. I work with an advisory team who takes the time to listen and understand each client’s goals. When it comes to problem solving, Quantum has an open door approach. Our team utilizes each other’s expertise to come up with solutions so that our clients have a team of truly collaborative minds working for their benefit.

Qualifications

While earning my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from San Diego State University, I worked for the International Rescue Committee assisting refugees and low income families with the preparation of their tax documents. I continued my financial services career at Union Bank assisting the Regional Principal with site audits and monitoring advisor’s trades. My most recent role at TD Ameritrade consisted of providing account services for multi-billion dollar advisory firms, training new Relationship Managers, and helping the TDA Institutional forms team. I also enjoyed the challenge of being the main contact for an advisor’s trust acquisition. These roles gave me the experience and knowledge to help our team create the most efficient procedures to navigate TD Ameritrade’s back office.

Outside of Work

During our spare time, my husband and I love exploring the woods of Northwest Arkansas on our mountain bikes. I also have a passion for dogs, more specifically pit bull rescues, and frequently donate to a foundation dedicated to educating people about the breed. When I have time, unplanned road trips are my jam because there can never be too many adventures.
